Russia MFA spox advises Armenia Security Council chief to think about food security

Considering that we regularly inform the Armenian side, we are in contact, I believe that this information is spreading, and I believe that in Yerevan they know about our position and proceed from realistic assessments of such adventures. Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this at Friday’s press briefing, commenting on the participation of the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, in the online forum on food security—and in the context of the "Ukraine peace resolution."
"We [i.e. Russia] thought that they perfectly understood that such internal political fighting has nothing to do with the search for a political settlement and the establishment of peace; but apparently this does not reach everyone. And all the participants of these gatherings should be aware that the conflict cannot be resolved without Russia's participation," Zakharova said.
According to her, those interested in food security should first of all ask how this issue is in their own country.
"Maybe friend Armen Grigoryan doesn't know. Let me remind: ninety percent of the grains that go to Armenia for various purposes come from Russia. Perhaps then you can contact the Russian Federation via videoconference to discuss your food security. Well, that's fair and respectful. Why act and engage in some kind of fraud behind the backs of those who, among other things, feed you and ensure your food security?" Zakharova said.
