Turkey wants to become full member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization - Erdogan

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkey intends to become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference following the NATO summit in Washington.
"The goal of Turkey, which now has observer status in the SCO, is full membership in the organization," TASS quotes Erdogan.
The Turkish President took part in the SCO summit held in Astana on July 3–4. On the sidelines of the event, he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and invited him to Turkey. After the summit, Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his intention to develop relations with Russia and China within the SCO.
