AKIPRESS.COM - Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi urged Uzbekistan to join development of oil, gas, copper deposits in Afghanistan, Kun.uz reported.
Azizi met with Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan Bobir Islamov.
Minister Azizi said investments in the north of Afghanistan are beneficial due to closeness to the markets of the region. The Afghan Minister suggested to invest into copper deposits in Gazni and Herat provinces and to create processing plants in Afghanistan.
Minister Islamov in turn suggested signing of an agreement on support of investments between two countries. He also said about creation of two major copper processing plants in Uzbekistan, which need raw resources.
The sides agreed that the official delegation of Uzbekistan will visit Afghanistan for surveys and technical works.
