Turkmenistan, Iraq debate swap natural gas supplies

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 30.
Turkmenistan and Iraq have discussed the prospects of Turkmen's
natural gas supplies under the SWAP scheme, Trend reports referring to
Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.
According to the information, the discussion took place at the
meeting of Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with
Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on
the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
In the course of the discussion, the sides reaffirmed the desire
to develop political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian
relations between the two countries.
Information indicates that special attention was paid to the
issues of investment cooperation. The sides expressed readiness to
strengthen cooperation in strategically important areas.
