German Foreign Minister: NATO is stronger now than ever before

We will defend every square centimeter of our Europe. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said this at a conference on Germany's National Security Strategy.The German Foreign Minister called for the defense of the European world order and for increased support for Ukraine in the fight against Russia, reports Bild. "We will defend our Europe - namely every square centimeter of our Europe - and our freedom," Baerbock said, emphasizing that in light of Russia's war in Ukraine, "deterrence" must be "clear and precise."Vladimir Putin, she said, is heading "down the road to totalitarianism." "Putin's Russia will remain the biggest threat to our security in Europe for the foreseeable future," Baerbock said, adding that defense policy must be "finely tuned to this reality." Germany, as the largest country in the European Union, has a special responsibility, the German foreign minister said. And NATO, she said, is now "stronger than ever, although it faces challenges greater than ever."
