"The international conference kicking off in Zangilan has great symbolic meaning," the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts Vahid Hajiyev said at the traditional international humanitarian demining conference held in Zangilan and jointly organized by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), APA reports.
He noted that the Aghali village of Zangilan is the first settlement that was rebuilt and where former internally displaced persons returned: "Works on this scale are carried out precisely thanks to the hard work of mine sappers, people's safety is ensured and the impact of landmines on the environment is being reduced."
