Portugal pledges 126 mln euros for "reconstruction of Ukraine"

Portugal will provide Ukraine with at least 126 million euros (137 million dollars) this year for the "reconstruction of Ukraine," according to an agreement signed between Portugal and Ukraine on Tuesday, APA reports citing Xinhua.

During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's brief visit to Portugal, the last stop of his tour of several European countries, the two sides signed a 10-year bilateral cooperation agreement in security.

"Our unwavering commitment will be maintained throughout the duration of this agreement," said Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, assuring Zelensky that assistance will be provided over the next 10 years.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support and described Portugal as "a partner in the reconstruction" of his country.

"This ten-year agreement does not mean that the war will last for 10 years, it is a strategic agreement that covers the renewal and rehabilitation of Ukraine and humanitarian aid," said the Ukrainian president.
