General Prosecutor's Offices of Azerbaijan and Bahrain sign memorandum

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. The series of
meetings with delegations of international organizations and
foreign states participating in the 29th annual conference of the
International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Baku is underway,
Trend reports via Azerbaijan's General Prosecutor's
Office.
According to information, Prosecutor General of the Republic of
Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev met today with the delegation of the
Kingdom of Bahrain headed by Prosecutor General Ali bin Fadhl
Al-Buainain.
“Noting that within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement
organization, cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain has reached a
high level, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev stressed the existence
of strong political and trade ties between the two countries.
Underscoring the historical significance of holding the 29th
session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework
Convention on Climate Change in Azerbaijan, Prosecutor General
Kamran Aliyev presented the invitation letter to the Prosecutor
General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the
high-level plenary session entitled “Mobilization of law
enforcement agencies to strengthen the fight against climate
change” organized within COP29 by the Prosecutor General's Office
of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the UN Office.
Mentioning that strong ties have been established between the
Prosecutor's Offices of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom
of Bahrain, Kamran Aliyev talked of the exchange of experience and
the importance of bilateral visits of the Prosecutor's Office
staff.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Prosecutor
General of the Kingdom of Bahrain congratulated Kamran Aliyev on
the professional holiday of prosecutors of the Republic of
Azerbaijan on October 1 and the 106th anniversary of the
establishment of the prosecution bodies, highly appreciating the
reforms carried out in the prosecution bodies and existing ties
between the prosecution bodies of the two countries.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects of expanding legal
and institutional cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of
the two countries within the framework of bilateral and
international platforms. The necessity of cooperation was
emphasized, including the fight against crime, protection of
citizens' rights, mutual professional visits, and exchange of
experience.
Afterwards, a memorandum of understanding on the development of
cooperation was signed in order to strengthen legal cooperation
between the two countries and further intensify the existing
ties.
The working visit of the delegation to Azerbaijan continues.
