Saken Mamash attempts to appeal court's decision about his arrest

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakh diplomat Saken Mamash, arrested for 15 days for attacking his wife's sister in the UAE, tried to appeal the court's decision, informburo.kz reports.
He filed an appeal on July 3. The Astana City Court considered it on the same day. The diplomat's defenders insisted that his guilt had not been proven. They also said that the incident occurred in Abu Dhabi, which does not fall under the jurisdiction of Kazakhstan.
However, the court did not satisfy the appeal.
"The appellate court does not find any legal basis for amending the judicial act or canceling it. We decide to leave the decision of the specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses unchanged, and the appeals are not satisfied," the statement says.
The diplomat caused the minor harm to the health of Karina's sister. Separate criminal proceedings are underway on statement of Karina Mamash.
The diplomat's wife, Karina Mamash, stated that Saken Mamash beat her and her sister, who came to visit them, on May 5. After this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan recalled a diplomat from the UAE to Kazakhstan due to accusations of domestic violence.
The woman returned to Astana on May 9. For safety, Karina and her children stayed in a crisis center. It was reported that Saken Mamash could face up to 7 years in prison under article on torture.
