AKIPRESS.COM - The Sharan-Sai bridge in Nookat district of Osh region, which collapsed earlier due to mudflows, has been restored, reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The work to restore the passage took 4 hours. The works were carried out on July 1.
"9 units of special equipment were involved. The work began at about 09:00 and was completed at 13:00. Now all kinds of vehicles can pass through. The bridge located in Kulatov municipality on 8 km of the Kok-Jar - Abshyr-Ata road collapsed on June 30 due to mudflows. As a result, the traffic between Kulatov and Kok-Jar municipalities was disconnected," the statement said.
Heavy rains on June 28 triggered mudflows in the village of Abshyr-Ata in Kulatov rural municipality of Nookat district, resulting in the deaths of 9 people. A 2-year-old child is missing. Around 1,400 people were evacuated.
