Farmer from Chui region takes second place in Uzbekistan Drift Championship

AKIPRESS.COM - Farmer from Chui region Kalys Askarov took the second place in Uzbekistan Drift Championship.
Askarov, 35, from Alchaluu village of Chui region, told Turmush in an interview that he started doing this sport since 2014. He became a champion of Kyrgyzstan in drifting in 2016. 
He said he did not train in drifting for 8 years, but ahead of the recent championship in Kazakhstan, he thoroughly trained for 3 months. Then he participated in the Drift Championship of Kyrgyzstan.
"On June 14-26, the Drift Championship of Uzbekistan was held for the first time and I took the second place.  The Federation of Motorsport of Uzbekistan invited participants from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to develop this direction. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 7 athletes, Kazakhstan - 3. Sergei Yutiev of Kyrgyzstan took first place. The winners were awarded cups and diplomas," he said.
The Drift Championship of Uzbekistan took place in Samarkand in the territory of Old City residence, where cars are banned. The Federation of Motorsport received a permit and held a championship there, he noted. 
 Kalys Askarov runs a farm in the village of Alchaluu, he grows strawberries on an area of 2 hectares.
