Marshal Baghramyan Avenue of Yerevan closed off for 2nd day

Members of the Tavush for the Homeland movement of Armenia and numerous people, under the leadership of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, have spent their second night on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan—and which runs along the main entrance of the National Assembly (NA) building 
Also for the second day, the police have formed a human chain to keep Derenik Demirchyan Street—which runs along the side entrance of the NA building—closed, both from Marshal Baghramyan Avenue and Proshyan Street—which runs along the entrance to the PM’s residence.
At the rally held on June 9, Archbishop Galstanyan had announced: "At this moment we have to make a decision. We can solve the problem if, starting from tomorrow, we will be on the streets for just four days—96 hours, without a break, without going to work, without rest, and without sleeping, and impose our will." After that, the march reached Marshal Baghramyan Avenue, where they pitched tents.
The NA opposition Armenia and With Honor Factions on Monday submitted a petition to the NA Council, with the demand to convene an extraordinary session of the NA Tuesday or until June 17, with the agenda of the resignation of the government and the formation of a new government. The ruling majority Civil Contract Faction, however, voted against this initiative and announced that they will not participate in the NA session—to be convened by virtue of law—on June 17 either so as not secure a quorum.
