Launch of SME digitization initiative in Azerbaijan to address emerging market terms

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. A new
digitalization program for small and medium-sized business
enterprises (SMEs) will allow them to adapt to new market
conditions and optimize their costs, Deputy Chairman of the Board
of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development under the
Ministry of Transport and Digital Development of Azerbaijan Rashad
Khaligov told reporters, Trend reports.
He made the remark on the sidelines of the presentation of a
platform, established for supporting Azerbaijani SMEs in Baku
today.
Khaligov mentioned that the implementation of digital
technologies and the transformation of business processes play a
key role in enhancing the competitiveness and efficiency of SMEs in
the modern economy.
"Today, as part of a joint initiative between the Innovation and
Digital Development Agency and the Small and Medium Business
Development Agency, a new project for the digitalization of SMEs
has been introduced. The launched program aims to support SMEs in
their digital transformation process, allowing them to adapt to new
market conditions and optimize their costs.
One of the central elements of the program is a platform called
'digiMATE,' which will help businesses assess their current level
of digital maturity and develop individual roadmaps for further
digital development based on this assessment," he noted.
According to him, one of the most common problems faced by SMEs
is the correct selection of digital solution providers.
"The 'digiMATE' platform will enable small and medium-sized
enterprises to receive recommendations on choosing optimal digital
solutions, facilitating effective cost management. Furthermore, the
program includes training and seminars on digital transformation to
help businesses navigate this challenging process more
successfully.



A key aspect of the program is the possibility of providing
financial support to SMEs based on their digital index, making it
easier for them to implement necessary technological solutions," he
added.
To note, Baku is hosting a presentation of a platform that helps
SMEs digitize.
The event is featuring Deputy Minister of Digital Development
and Transport of Azerbaijan Samir Mammadov, Chairman of the Small
and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov,
Chairperson of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRIA)
Inara Valiyeva, and several other officials.
