AKIPRESS.COM - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Astana to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, the Kazakh government's press service reported.
President Putin was met by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov in the airport.
The Russian president's press service said Putin will have a number of important bilateral meetings with participants of the summit in Astana.
The SCO Summit will be held in the Independence Palace in Astana on July 3-4.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was founded by 6 countries in 2001, including Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Iran, India and Pakistan joined SCO later.
