AKIPRESS.COM - President of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry Vladimír Dlouhý delivered a speech at the international business forum of the Organization of Turkic States on June 27.
The Association represents more than 20 million European entrepreneurs through a network of more than 2,000 Chambers, making it the largest business organization in Europe, Dlouhý said.
"I think the role of business in today's complex world is becoming increasingly important. As an example, Europe had an economic miracle after the World War II and went from war destruction to a very high level of development. Politicians always claim that this was their achievement. No, this was achieved by business, especially private business," the President stated.
He invited the Central Asian countries to cooperate with European businesses.
"I understand that you have national partners from China, Russia and historically with the Germans, but I believe that it is extremely important for you to cooperate with European business," Dlouhý noted.
The European Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to provide support and services to improve trade relations, the President added.
"We are not politicians, but we have a strong voice. For example, when discussing specific political terms of trade in Brussels. We can help you in adopting the rules and conditions for mutually beneficial business between the European Union and the acceding countries in your region," he noted.
Vladimir Dlouhý also spoke about opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, research and development, and vocational training.
