By the end of this year, the issue of providing 100% broadband internet coverage nationwide will be resolved, said Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov at today's meeting of the Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), APA reports.
"Today's figures are already close to approximately 80%. Fiber-optic internet networks are already available in most of our regions. When we say 100%, we mean to carry out 95% of it through fiber-optic networks. In some remote villages, we will provide internet via satellite networks. However, we are talking about an average speed of 35 gigabits here. This means sufficiently high-speed internet." - stated the deputy minister.
