In the field of transportation in Azerbaijan, cargo and passenger transportation increased by 3,6% and 7,8% compared to the same period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistics Committee.
According to the Committee, 73.8 million ton of cargo were transported by economic entities operating in the transport sector: “3.5% of cargo was transported by sea, 8,1% by railway, 0,2% by air, 57% by road, and 31,2% by pipeline.”
Noted that the volume of cargo transported via vehicles belonging non-state sector increased by 5,2%, the share of this sector in the total volume of transported cargo was 77,3%.
Transporters served 623,9 million passengers in January-April 2024. 87,5% of passenger by car transport,11% by metro, the rest part transported by other transport modes.
