The mass riots in New Caledonia inflicted damages totaling 150 million euros, President of the South Province of New Caledonia Sonia Backes said, APA reports.
According to her, it is not ruled out that the mentioned amount will increase, as the government is conducting a more detailed research on it.
Note that the French parliament adopted a bill a while ago on giving the right to participate in elections to residents who have lived in New Caledonia for 10 years.
This step caused mass protests in the region.
