Russia's Putin comments on reports of presence of North Korean troops in the "special operation zone"

“If there are footages, then they reflect something," Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a press conference following the BRICS 2024 summit in Kazan, in response to a question regarding the presence of North Korean troops in the "special operation zone," APA's Russia bureau reports.

A journalist from the U.S. NBC channel asked the Russian President about the existence of satellite images showing North Korean troops in the "special operation zone."

Putin replied that "images are a serious matter; if they exist, they reflect something."

He also recalled that the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with North Korea was ratified today and noted that Moscow and Pyongyang remain in constant contact.

Putin noted that Russia did not start the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, "the West carried out a coup in Ukraine in 2014, then spent 8 years arming Ukrainian troops, and Western military personnel have long been fighting alongside Ukrainians against Russia."
