During January-August of 2024, 480 kg of sturgeon caviar worth USD 553 thousand 780 was exported from Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
According to calculations made by APA -Economics based on the report of the State Statistical Committee, compared to the corresponding period of last year, the volume of exported caviar increased by 20% or 80 kg, and its value increased by 60% or USD 208.5 thousand.
During the reporting period, the average export price of black caviar rose by 34% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 1,961 manats for per kilogram.
Note that black caviar was primarily exported to the United Arab Emirates (210 kg), the United States (140 kg), Kazakhstan (40 kg), Saudi Arabia (10 kg), and Singapore (10 kg). The product was sold for 1,717 manats to the UAE, 1,378 manats to the USA, 3,400 manats to Kazakhstan, 3,855 manats to Saudi Arabia, and 3,624 manats to Singapore.
Recall that during this period, Azerbaijan imported 3,630 kg of black caviar from China worth 1,089,900 USD, with an import price of 510 manats per kilogram.
