Uzbekistan sketches principles of joint online platform with Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. The creation of an
online platform for business is an important step in the
development of bilateral economic relations between Uzbekistan and
Azerbaijan, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of
Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov told Trend.
"This platform will provide entrepreneurs with several benefits,
including simplifying trade operations and increasing business
visibility. It will create a single digital space for trade
transactions, which will facilitate the process of purchase and
sale of goods and services," the minister noted.
He emphasized that special attention will be paid to support
small and medium-sized businesses, which will be able to use the
platform to enter international markets. Besides, the platform will
facilitate the launch and implementation of joint projects in such
sectors as energy and industry.
"We plan to launch this platform soon, which will significantly
boost the volume of bilateral trade and elevate our economic
relations to a new level," Laziz Kudratov added.
To note, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
exceeded $118.2 million from January through July 2024.

Uzbekistan's imports from Azerbaijan during this period reached
$18.6 million, while the country's exports to Azerbaijan amounted
to $99.6 million.
