The Times: UK considering developing missiles with range of more than 3,000km

The British authorities are discussing the possibility of developing missiles with a range of up to 3,200 km, sources say, reports The Times.
London is ready to jointly implement this project with Berlin. During a visit to Germany on Wednesday, British defense secretary John Healey discussed with his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius, the matter of developing long-range missiles to attack Russian territory to destroy Russia's nuclear potential.
These missiles are expected to be able to replace the American cruise missiles in Germany in the future. On July 10, the White House press office announced that starting in 2026, the United States will begin deploying new weapons of longer range in Germany than are currently deployed anywhere in Europe.
A diplomatic source told The Times that deploying American missiles would be a temporary measure until European countries develop their own long-range weapons.
Storm Shadow missiles, with a range of around 250 km, are currently the British Armed Forces' longest-range missiles, excluding the Vanguard-class Trident II (D5) ballistic missiles carried by Vanguard-class nuclear submarines.
Healey and Pistorius on Wednesday signed the declaration on military cooperation between London and Berlin, which states that the two parties intend to strengthen their cooperation in the development, production, and procurement of weapons and ammunition.
