Security Council chief: Partnership with EU increases Armenia's resilience

Diversification is very important for Armenia's resilience. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated this on Wednesday.
"I am of the opinion that the Eastern Partnership [of the European Union (EU)] is successful, and it has many positive results. Fifteen years ago, when the Eastern Partnership was being created, mostly the post-Soviet countries were more similar to each other. But in the course of 15 years, they have undergone great changes, and perhaps the main requirement is that there should be an individual approach to all these member-countries," said Grigoryan.
According to him, the Eastern Partnership helps Armenia towards resilience.
"Diversification is very important for Armenia's resilience, both economically and security-wise. Democracy definitely increases Armenia's resilience. Democracy is one of the main tools with which Armenia is able to resist its threats. Democracy is very important also from the point of view of internal security. We are convinced that democracy helps in internal security, economic development, democratization, fight against corruption, and these in turn bring great results," said Grigoryan.
