All necessary resources available for government to address consequences of Nookat mudflows - Cabinet head

AKIPRESS.COM - The government is making every effort to overcome the consequences of the mudflows in Nookat, with all necessary resources available, said Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov on his social media page.
He addressed the nation saying that "an unforeseen disaster has struck our country, and the state is fully mobilized to address its aftermath." 
"Active efforts are underway in Osh region to support the families of the victims and restore the affected areas. An operational headquarters, coordinated by the governor's office of Osh, is managing this. The state is swiftly organizing and addressing all necessary needs with help from local volunteers. Appropriate assistance is being provided, and the situation is under control.
In such times, patriotism and mutual aid among Kyrgyz citizens are evident. However, we caution against independent fundraising initiatives online, as there is a risk of fraud. Those wishing to help can contact the headquarters in Osh," Japarov said. 
On June 28, torrential rains triggered mudflows in the village of Abshyr-Ata, Nookat district, Osh region that resulted in the deaths of 9 people, one 2-year-old child is missing. An emergency situation was declared in Nookat district. Around 1,400 people were evacuated.
