Moment of bridge collapsing due to mudflow caught on video in Nookat

AKIPRESS.COM - A bridge collapsed in Kok-Jar rural municipality of Nookat district of Osh region on June 30, eyewitnesses reported to Turmush.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, around 20:30, the Naiman bridge at the 63 km of the Osh-Razzakov highway was destroyed due to mudflows.
The ministry stated that the bridge collapsed during efforts to mitigate the consequences of the mudflows. As a result, the road is closed in both directions.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications reported that the bridge was old and in poor condition, and thus could not withstand the mudflows. "There are no casualties among people or equipment as a result of the bridge collapse. Currently, the issue of opening a bypass road is being considered," the statement said.
At least 9 people died as a result of the mudflows on June 28 in Nookat, according to the latest data. An emergency situation was declared in the district, and about 1,400 people were evacuated from the affected areas.
