AKIPRESS.COM - The documentary film "Anchy Kyz" ("The Huntress") by Kyrgyz film director Suyum Sulaymanova was selected for the 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which takes place in the Czech Republic from June 28 to July 6.
Sulaymanova's film was launched into production as a short film lasting 20 minutes by the Kyrgyzfilm film studio in 2022, according to the Ministry of Culture.
Later director Suyum Sulaymanova remade the film, making it a full-length documentary lasting 60 minutes.
"Anchy Kyz" ("The Huntress") tells the story of a girl named Nurazhar and her father Nurlan, who are engaged in traditional hunting. 13-year-old Nurazhar, keeping up with her father, is learning the secrets of the ancient art of hunting.
