Uzbek studies department of the Silk Road University was opened in Istanbul
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage opened its department “Uzbekshunoslik” (Uzbek Studies) at Istanbul University in Turkey on 25 June.
Scientists from the Department of Turkic Languages and Literature at Istanbul University will work at the Uzbekshunoslik Department along with their Uzbek colleagues. Such cooperation will provide the necessary resources to young scientists, historians, ethnographers conducting scientific research on ancient and modern languages of the Turkic group, literature, history, culture and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples. In addition, cooperation will facilitate the exchange of experience between teachers and students of the two universities.
The Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" donated about 200 scientific and artistic books dedicated to the Uzbek language, literature, history, cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and Uzbek poets to the department . Along with this, images of cultural heritage objects and handicrafts were donated.
The activities of the department will help increase the tourist flow, increase the prestige of our country, as well as the broad promotion of reforms and achievements carried out in Uzbekistan in foreign countries, including fraternal Turkey, by teaching students, scientists and researchers in Turkey the rich history and culture of Uzbekistan , Uzbek language and literature.
