President of Uzbekistan launches the first investment projects in the Zaamin technology park
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In all regions of Uzbekistan, enterprises in demand by the economy are being created. This helps create new jobs, develop industrial sectors, and ultimately improve the well-being of the people.
Over the past five years, the volume of the processing industry in the Jizzakh region has increased 1.6 times, reaching 19 trillion soums last year alone. 
Export volumes increased 2.2 times and reached US$202 million. The amount of foreign investment is also growing every year. In 2018, the region received US$18 million in foreign investment, and last year this figure reached almost US$700 million. There are 260 enterprises with foreign capital in the region.
In particular, in Zaamin district, within the framework of investment programs, about 300 projects worth 1.8 trillion soums have been implemented over the past five years and more than three thousand new jobs have been created. Thanks to a favorable business environment, the number of small business entities in the region has increased 4 times.
Industrial development has begun in Zaamin. The region is very favorable for this: it is located in the central part of our country, there is a railway here, and Zaamin airport was recently expanded and reconstructed.
Now in the area, together with the Chinese company Mingyuan, a special industrial zone “Technopark” is being created. For this purpose, 400 hectares of land have been allocated and a target program for providing infrastructure has been approved, 160 billion soums have been allocated. 30 projects have already been formed, in which Chinese investors will invest US$1.2 billion.
Enterprises for the production of goods with high added value and import-substituting products in demand in foreign markets will be created in the zone. Projects are being implemented in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building materials, furniture industry, food industry and services. As a result, more than 5 thousand jobs will be created, industrial products worth 4.7 trillion soums will be produced and an export potential worth 70 million dollars will be created.
An international center for the exchange of experience and engineering will be created on the territory of the technology park to train qualified specialists for industrial enterprises. An office center, residential buildings, an eco-park, a large exhibition hall and a shopping center will also be built here.
At the ceremony, the head of state pressed a symbolic button and launched the construction of the first investment projects in the technology park, wishing business people success in implementing these modern projects.
Thanks to the beautiful nature of Zaamin, tourism is becoming the driver of the area. In order to develop tourism services, the Zaamin tourist zone was recently created.
