Yu Tianqi: Demand for learning Chinese increasing in countries participating in Belt and Road Initiative

The demand for learning Chinese is increasing in the countries participating in Belt and Road Initiative. This was stated Thursday by Yu Tianqi, deputy secretary of the party committee of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of China, speaking at the Armenia-China Cultural Dialogue conference, which was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
"The Armenian-Chinese traditional friendship comes from the depths of centuries, especially after the establishment of diplomatic relations. During the last 32 years, we have become good friends inspiring mutual trust and good partners implementing sincere cooperation. And accordingly, the interest in the Chinese language is constantly increasing in Armenia, the demand for learning Chinese is increasing in the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, many young Armenians prefer to learn Chinese and get familiarized with Chinese culture. Recently, the union of Chinese language teachers was established in Armenia, which testifies to the development of Chinese language teaching in Armenia. I believe that this union will make a great contribution to the field of humanitarian cooperation," said Yu Tianqi.
