Julian Assange released from UK prison

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been released from a UK prison, WikiLeaks reported on X—formerly Twitter.
Assange left the country by plane.
He is now going home—to Australia.
WikiLeaks noted that the journalist left Belmarsh maximum security prison after spending 1,901 days inside its walls.
"After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars," the statement noted, in part.
A few hours before Assange’s release, it became known that the founder of WikiLeaks is preparing a deal with the US prosecutor's office, in which he may partially admit guilt. It is likely that Assange's agreement to this condition has enabled his release from prison.
