Sarah Morgenthau: US wants to strengthen economic ties with Armenia through trade, investments

The US seeks to consider new economic opportunities in relations with Armenia. The US Department of State Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, Sarah Morgenthau, noted this in her address Monday at the US-Armenia Local Democracy Forum that has started in Yerevan.
The US wants stable, mutually beneficial deals and already has strong economic ties with Armenia. Trade between the two countries has tripled, from $96 million to $300 million, in 2023 since 2020. The US is in Armenia to work with the latter to make those successes more tangible. The young entrepreneurs in Armenia are very active. As Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said, the US wants Armenia to be strong, independent, and peaceful with its neighbors. The US wants to strengthen economic ties with Armenia through trade and investments, Morgenthau said.
The US official added that in the next few days, she will try to study the future courses of action with Armenia, and that this will pave the way for their future well-being, Morgenthau said.
