Ensuring reliable protection of the maritime borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, strengthening the control of regime rules in the Caspian Sea, and measures to fight against smuggling are being continued, the State Border Service told APA.
On May 12, as a result of a joint operation of coastal control units of the Coast Guard of the State Border Service, a technical observation point, and border guard ship, 26 kilograms of narcotic marijuana were found and seized in the Alat raid in the section of the Caspian Sea belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan at a distance of 10.7 miles from the coast.
Operational-investigative measures are being continued on the fact.
