Slovak PM: There is project to import Azerbaijani gas from territory of Ukraine through a point on Russian-Ukrainian border

Of course, the use of Slovakia's transport infrastructure has become complicated due to the war going on in Ukraine, the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, made this statement to the press after an expanded meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

According to him, there is a project to import Azerbaijani gas from the territory of Ukraine through a point on the Russian-Ukrainian border: "If we're talking about a volume of 20 billion cubic meters, it should be interesting for everyone. Of course, I do not think that Azerbaijan is engaged in charity. We simply hope for fair prices and respect your interests.

Mr. President, I am confident that we will also create a positive atmosphere at the European level. You know that everyone in Europe likes speculation, trying to see the worst intentions. We don't just want to buy gas from Azerbaijan; we want to import gas from the territory of Ukraine to Slovakia, and I highly appreciate your constructive approach on this matter.

As the Prime Minister of Ukraine stated, it is possible to reach a certain agreement between Russia and Ukraine where there is Azerbaijani gas. This will be beneficial for everyone, both for Slovakia, for you, and Ukraine. Because they will carry out its transit. This can be an exemplary project, and Mr. President, I thank you for the information you provided on this matter."
