"Project of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway will shorten period of cargo transport between Asia and Europe sharply," said Levan Davitashvili, Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development in his speech in "Minister hour" format of Parliament, APA's correspondent in Tbilisi reports.
Deputy PM has noted that modernization works of Georgia's railways, as well as part of the BTK passing through Georgian territory, are planned to be completed this year.
